Hotel maintenance requests and guest feedback by QR code, for every property

Put a QR label in each guest room, lift, gym and plant room. Housekeeping or a guest scans it, picks what is wrong, and engineering gets a request with the room and the hotel already attached. No app, no radio call.

How it works today

Faults travel by radio and memory

Housekeeping tells a supervisor, who tells engineering at handover, and by then the detail is gone and so is the room number.

Guests tell the review site instead

A guest who cannot easily report a broken shower does not stay quiet. They write it up after they leave.

Head office sees averages

Property performance arrives as a monthly summary that cannot say which hotel, which room or which piece of equipment.

Setting up a site

An afternoon, not a project

No register to build first. Print blank numbered labels, stick them on, then name each one by scanning it.

1

Print blanks

Pick a site and a number. They come out numbered and ready.

2

Stick them on

No decisions yet. Just get them on the equipment.

3

Scan and name

Scanning a blank label offers to set it up. Name it, save, next.

4

Live from there

Anyone who scans it can now report a problem against it.

The reports

Where repairs pile up, site by site

Raw counts only rank your sites by size. Requests per piece of equipment is the number that survives comparing a small site with a large one.

✓

Typical fix time, not the average

One job that drags on for weeks pulls the average far from a normal repair. The median shows what a typical fix really takes.

✓

What keeps coming back

Reported again within 30 days of being fixed. The number that justifies replacing it.

What you get

✓

Housekeeping reports without leaving the room

One scan, one tap, carry on. Up to two photos if they help. No radio call, no note to write up at the end of a shift.

✓

Engineering sees it already tagged

Room, hotel and problem type arrive together, with priority and an assignee. The assignee gets an email, and starting work assigns it to whoever starts.

✓

Proof the room is ready

On resolve, the engineer picks how it ended (Fixed, Cleaned, Replaced and others) and attaches an after photo. Every step is in a timestamped activity log.

✓

Properties compared fairly

Reports show requests per labelled item, median fix time and the oldest open request per hotel, so a large property is not top of the list just for being large.

Customer feedback

Feedback campaigns for hotels

Ask guests the same question at every property and read the answers hotel by hotel, while the guest is still there.

How QR code campaigns work ›

✓

Satisfaction Check in the room

A card asks one question with three faces, with an optional comment. A sad face emails the account owner, so there is a chance to fix it before checkout.

✓

Link to each hotel's own pages

One Link campaign sends each property's code to its own website or Instagram. Posters are generated per hotel with its own code.

✓

Change it without reprinting

Update the question centrally and every code follows. For reviews, a Smart Review campaign gives each hotel a code that opens its own Google or Tripadvisor page. Guests can leave a public review there, or send you a private message instead.

Frequently asked questions

Can guests report a problem without giving their name?

Yes, and that is the default. A contact field only appears if the property turns it on. If the guest leaves details, staff can follow up directly.

Is the guest told automatically when it is fixed?

Yes, if they left an email address. When the request is resolved as Fixed, Cleaned or Replaced, the guest gets an automatic email. The property chooses whether the report form shows that field. Other outcomes, such as No fault found, send nothing.

Can engineers at one hotel see only that hotel?

Yes. A technician can be limited to the locations shared with them, and the account owner sees every property.

Does it replace our PMS or connect to it?

No. There are no integrations, PMS sync or public API. KudoTaps covers fault reporting, repairs and reports, the part usually done by radio and paper.

Does it handle planned room maintenance or scheduled servicing?

No. There are no recurring tasks or service calendars. It handles faults that housekeeping, guests and staff report.

Will we get text alerts for urgent faults?

No. Alerts are by email only: to the hotel, the account owner and whoever the request is assigned to. Set priority to High so urgent jobs sort to the top.
