Maintenance requests and family feedback for senior living and assisted living communities

Put a QR label in each resident bathroom, lift, dining room and laundry. Staff or a visiting family member scans it, taps what is wrong, and maintenance gets a request tagged with the community and the room. No app, no account.

How it works today

Small faults wait for the right person

A care aide notices a loose grab rail but is busy with residents. It gets mentioned at handover, maybe.

Families notice, then worry

A visiting family member sees a broken light or a dripping tap and has no easy way to tell anyone except the front desk.

Regional leaders cannot compare communities

Each community reports maintenance its own way, so nobody can say which site has a backlog.

Setting up a site

An afternoon, not a project

No register to build first. Print blank numbered labels, stick them on, then name each one by scanning it.

1

Print blanks

Pick a site and a number. They come out numbered and ready.

2

Stick them on

No decisions yet. Just get them on the equipment.

3

Scan and name

Scanning a blank label offers to set it up. Name it, save, next.

4

Live from there

Anyone who scans it can now report a problem against it.

The reports

Where repairs pile up, site by site

Raw counts only rank your sites by size. Requests per piece of equipment is the number that survives comparing a small site with a large one.

✓

Typical fix time, not the average

One job that drags on for weeks pulls the average far from a normal repair. The median shows what a typical fix really takes.

✓

What keeps coming back

Reported again within 30 days of being fixed. The number that justifies replacing it.

What you get

✓

Quick for care staff

Scan, pick the problem, carry on with residents. Up to two photos if they help.

✓

Safety issues marked as such

Reporters can pick Safety issue. Set it to High priority and assign it, and the technician gets an email.

✓

Proof it was fixed

Technicians close each job with an outcome and an after photo, and the activity log shows who did what and when.

✓

Every community compared

Reports show requests per item, median fix time, oldest open request and ageing of open jobs for each community.

Customer feedback

Feedback campaigns for senior living communities

Ask families and visitors the same question at every community, and follow up on enquiries from tours.

How QR code campaigns work ›

✓

Family satisfaction checks

A Satisfaction Check at reception or in the dining room: one question, three faces, optional comment. A sad face emails the account owner.

✓

Tour and enquiry leads

A Lead Capture poster collects name, phone, email and a message from prospective families. Each lead emails that community.

✓

Results by community

Reports list communities biggest opportunity first, show the latest comments, and export to CSV.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a nurse call or emergency system?

No. KudoTaps is for maintenance and feedback. Alerts are email only, so emergencies must follow your existing procedures.

Do residents or families need an app?

No. They scan with the phone camera and a web page opens. No account, no sign-in.

Is the family told when it is fixed?

Yes, if they left an email address on the report form. When staff resolve the request as Fixed, Cleaned or Replaced, the family member gets an automatic email. Each community chooses whether to show that field. Other outcomes, such as No fault found, send nothing.

Does it schedule routine checks like water temperature or lift servicing?

No. There is no scheduled or recurring maintenance. It handles faults people report and the repairs that follow.

Can maintenance staff at one community see only that community?

Yes. A technician can be limited to the locations shared with them.

Can labels be put in resident rooms?

Yes. Labels are small 2.5 x 1 inch stickers, numbered and named for the item, so they can go on a bathroom wall or inside a cupboard door.

Start with one site

Label one location, run it a month, see whether the numbers tell you something you did not already know.
