Campaign use case

Restroom cleanliness feedback by QR code, for every location

Put a small QR code poster inside every restroom that asks one question, such as "How clean is this restroom right now?". Visitors tap a happy, neutral or sad face on their phone, and you see the answers for each location side by side. A sad face sends you an email, so a dirty restroom does not wait for the next scheduled check.

The problem

Why this is hard today

A signed cleaning log is not the same as a clean room

The checklist on the door says someone was there at 2pm. It does not tell you what the room looked like at 2:40, when a customer walked in.

Customers rarely tell staff

People who find a dirty restroom usually leave and say nothing, or mention it in a public review days later. By then the moment to fix it has passed.

You cannot see which site is slipping

With many locations, you only hear about restrooms when something goes badly wrong. There is no simple way to see which site keeps getting poor marks.

How it works

How restroom cleanliness checks works with KudoTaps

1

Create one Satisfaction Check campaign

Write the question once, up to 120 characters. Keep it about the room, not the visit: "How clean is this restroom right now?" works better than "How was your visit?". Pick your locations and each one gets its own QR code.

2

Put the poster where people stand still

Posters are generated for each location with that location's code. Mount them at eye level on the inside of the door or beside the sink, not on the outside of the door where people are walking past.

3

Visitors tap a face

The page shows your question with the location name and three faces. The vote saves as soon as they tap. They can add a comment, like "no soap" or "bin full", or skip it.

4

Act on the sad faces

Each sad face emails the account owner. Forward it to the site, or check the inbox and the per-location table each morning to see which restrooms need a cleaner.

What you get

What you get

✓

One code per location

Every location gets its own code, so each answer is already tied to the right site. Up to 500 locations in one run.

✓

An email on every sad face

A poor rating emails the account owner straight away, with the question and the location, so someone can send a cleaner.

✓

Comments that say what is wrong

After the tap, visitors can type a short comment. "Out of paper towels" is something a manager can fix in five minutes.

✓

Biggest opportunity first

The campaign report lists every location with its responses and positive rate, lowest rate first, for the last 30 days, 90 days or all time.

✓

Change the question without reprinting

Reword the question in the dashboard and every code in the campaign shows the new wording. The posters stay on the wall.

✓

No app for visitors

Visitors scan with the phone camera and a web page opens. No download, no account.

Frequently asked questions

Where should the QR code go in a restroom?

Inside, at eye level, where people pause: beside the sink, on the inside of the stall door or by the hand dryer. A code on the outside of the door is scanned before anyone has seen the room, so the answers mean less.

Who gets the alert when someone taps the sad face?

The account owner gets an email for each sad face. Alerts are email only. There are no text messages or push notifications, so if a site manager needs to know, forward the email or give them access to the inbox.

Can someone vote more than once?

Yes. There is no sign-in, so nothing stops a person scanning twice. Read the results as a trend over days and weeks, not as a precise count.

Does this replace our cleaning schedule or checklist?

No. It tells you how the room looked to the people using it, between your scheduled checks. There is no cleaning rota or task list in KudoTaps.

What does it cost?

Campaigns are on the Marketing plan at $29 per location per month, with unlimited QR codes and users. Your first paid plan includes a 14-day free trial.

Can we print the posters ourselves?

Yes. You can email each poster to its location's own address or download a print pack with every poster in one document. Or we can print and ship them for you, for a fee.

Run it at every location
