How campaigns work

How QR code campaigns work across all your locations

Write your campaign once and pick your locations. Each one gets its own QR code and a ready-to-print poster, emailed to that location right away. The whole rollout takes about a minute.

Marketing plan: $29 per location per month. 14-day free trial on your first paid plan.

Step by step

How a QR code campaign works, in 5 steps

1

Write your campaign once

Pick what the scan does: ask one question, show a short lead form, ask for a review on Google, Yelp or Tripadvisor with Smart Review, or open a link.

2

Pick your locations

Tick the locations that should run it. Each one gets its own QR code, up to 500 locations at a time.

3

Every location gets its poster by email

A ready-to-print poster is made for each location with its own code, your colors, logo and headline. Or upload your own design as a PNG or JPG: we find the QR code on your upload and swap in each location's own code, so it prints exactly as you made it. It is emailed to each location, or to one address. Prefer not to print? We can print them and ship them to each location or to one address, priced per job.

4

Customers scan with their phone camera

A web page opens. No app and no account, on iPhone or Android. Every answer is saved with the location it came from.

5

See results for each location, side by side

The campaign report lists your locations biggest opportunity first, so you know where to focus. Change the question or link later and every code updates, with no reprinting.

Location names and percentages are examples.

After the scan

What happens when a customer scans

It depends on the campaign type you picked in step 1.

Satisfaction Check

One question, three faces

The customer sees your question (up to 120 characters) with the location name, and taps happy, okay or sad. The vote saves on the tap. Then they can add a comment.

A sad-face answer emails the account owner. Restroom cleanliness checks are a common use.

Lead Capture

A short sign-up form

Your own headline and button, with up to 7 fields: name, email, phone, date of birth, address, company and message. Each field can be required or optional.

Each new lead is emailed to that location's own email address, or to the owner if the location has none.

Smart Review

Reviews on Google, Yelp or Tripadvisor

Each location's code opens that location's own review page. Paste the review links in bulk, or let KudoTaps find each Google link from the location's address.

Customers can leave a public review, or send you a private message instead. Nobody is stopped from posting a public review. Google reviews at every location.

Link

Open a page or profile

Send the scan to a website, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Venmo or Cash App.

Each location can use its own saved link, such as its own Instagram, or fall back to one shared link.

What happens next

Results, changes and new locations

  • Results by location. Pick 30 days, 90 days or all time. See scans against the previous period, answers, sign-ups and comments, with every location compared side by side. Export to CSV or print.
  • Change it without reprinting. Reword the question or change the link once and every location's code shows the new version. Lead form fields are edited code by code.
  • Add locations later. Run the campaign again and only the locations that are missing get a new code and poster.
  • Pause without breaking anything. Rename, archive or restore a campaign. Archived codes keep working.

Campaign setup questions

How long does it take to set up a campaign?

About a minute. Write the campaign, pick your locations, and each location gets its own QR code and a ready-to-print poster by email.

How many locations can one campaign cover?

Up to 500 locations per run. Run it again to add more, and only the missing locations get new codes.

Do customers need an app?

No. They scan with the phone camera and a web page opens. No app and no account, on iPhone or Android.

Can you print the posters for us?

Yes. Print them yourself from the emailed posters or one printable document with every poster, or we can print them and ship them to each location or to one address, priced per job. Ask us for a quote.

Who gets told about bad answers and new leads?

A sad-face answer emails the account owner. Each new lead emails that location, or the owner if the location has no email. Alerts are email only, there are no text messages.

What can a campaign not do?

There is no booking campaign type, but a link campaign can open your own booking page. There are no text message alerts and no integrations or API.
